Recently, I returned to the US after a week long mission trip in Honduras. Many of us were excited to return home and spend Christmas with family and friends. Yours truly included.
Well, Christmas has come and gone and some of us have returned to work. It is easy to get wrapped back up in the grind, routine, and hustle that is our norm. Today, I encourage you to esist this behavior. Instead, let's ask for the GRACE to approach and enter each space, knowing we are light and we carry the Light. Let us illuminate those spaces with the Glorious Gospel of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Allow me to share an experience I had yesterday.
After having late lunch/early dinner with 12 other people, only 5 of whom I knew well, we were preparing to leave the table and go our separate ways. Suddenly, I felt a definite unction from the Holy Spirit to pray for everyone. Before I could rationalize and talk myself out of it, I immediately popped the question. "Can I pray for you before we leave?" One by one, they all agreed!
At the end of the prayer, a young man, age 17, who had previously been less than enthusiastic when prayer was suggested, e.g. side-eyed or better yet, eye rolling :-) said, "Now, that's love". I smiled. Thinking, indeed it was. Love for the Father and for His people.
I may never know why or for whom I was led to pray, but I'm thankful that in that moment, I had the courage to yield and to obey the voice of the Lord. Gloria  a Dios!!!
